March 2013 Astrology Forecast

Astrology ForecastIn March, the energy of revolutionary transformation is repeatedly energized as three planets – the Sun, Venus and Mars – conjunct Uranus and square Pluto. “New beginnings” energy is boosted as the Sun and Mars enter Aries. (The Sun’s entry marks the Spring Equinox.)

Major lunations include a Pisces New Moon and a Libra Full Moon. An encore appearance of last December’s Pluto-Saturn-Jupiter Yod encourages us to release the old and make space for the new. The Mercury retrograde that began in February wraps up, and a Jupiter/Chiron square empowers healing and mentoring.

The Story So Far

As March Opens, two planets are retrograde: Mercury thru 3/17, and Saturn thru 7/8. And the pervasive energies of revolutionary transformation (a Uranus-Pluto square), as well as universal love, compassion and spiritual awakening (Neptune in Pisces), will be active for years to come!

Mercury is retrograde as March opens. Ideally, wait until it goes direct, on the 17th at 4:03 pm, before undertaking any major new projects or purchases. While Mercury is retrograde, insure that you’re understanding and being understood, back up important data, and double-check travel plans. This particular Mercury retrograde, in Pisces, is ideal for reflection and introspection on the same themes as this month’s New Moon: spiritual union, divinely inspired creativity, and being a conduit of light and love to others.

Void-of-Course Moons

It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during these times. “Business as usual” is the best strategy for these periods, which occur when the Moon has made its last major Ptolemaic aspect but has not yet moved into the next sign.
