August 2013 Astrology Forecast: Jupiter Rules!
Jupiter, King of the Roman gods, also rules August this year: he features prominently in all of this month’s most significant aspect activity!
Jupiter opposes Pluto on 8/7 and squares Uranus on 8/21. But we may feel these aspects most strongly around 8/14 as we hit the peak of the potent T-Square formed by these three planets. Jupiter will tremendously amplify the energy of revolutionary transformation being carried by the multi-year Uranus-Pluto square!
This intense energy of growth and change will be stimulated again August 20-30 as Venus forms a powerful Grand Cross with Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto.
Jupiter is also involved in two harmonious Grand Trines in August. I’ve already written extensively about the “Grand Trine of Manifestation” featuring Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. It peaked back on 7/17, but retains waning influence thru 8/16.
Healing is empowered by another Grand Trine made up of Jupiter, Saturn and Chiron, which runs thru most of August and peaks on 8/21. The power of this Grand Trine is amped up further as Pluto joins in to form a two-week Kite peaking on 8/26.
This month also features the Sun entering Virgo, a strongly aspected New Moon in Leo, and our second Aquarius Full Moon in a row!
8/6. New Moon in Leo
8/7. Jupiter opposes Pluto
8/14. Peak of Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-Square
8/20. Aquarius Full Moon
8/21. Jupiter square Uranus
8/21. Jupiter trine Chiron
8/22. Peak of Jupiter-Saturn-Chiron Grand Trine
8/22. Sun enters Virgo
8/25. Peak of Venus-Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto Grand Cross
8/26. Peak of Jupiter-Saturn-Chiron-Pluto Kite
The Story So Far
As August opens, we have five retrograde planets: Pluto thru 9/20, Juno thru 9/24, Neptune thru 11/13, Chiron thru 11/19 and Uranus thru 12/17. And the pervasive energies of revolutionary transformation (a Uranus-Pluto square), as well as universal love, compassion and spiritual awakening (Neptune in Pisces), remain powerful for years to come!
It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during these times. “Business as usual” is the best strategy for these periods, which occur when the Moon has made its last major Ptolemaic aspect but has not yet moved into the next sign.

Everyone is affected by these global transits. However, you will be most powerfully impacted when moving planets activate sensitive points in your natal chart.
